On Mother's Day weekend, our son's Y Guides tribe and most of the boys from his 3rd grade class who are all in a different tribe together headed to the coast for their fall outing. It had rained all week and was cold when they left, but the clouds cleared on Saturday for a great weekend together.
They started the first morning off with some fishing. His best friend from school was in the cabin next door, so they fished together along with his best friend from church, Samuel.

Apparently, the secret to catching big fish is to attract them by
wearing bright, clashing colors. My son's stylish combination of neon
yellow socks, blue and orange shorts, and bright red sweatshirt worked
like a charm. (FYI: I haven't packed his lunches or his suitcases since I started teaching, not that you could tell. Ha!)
He loved starting his mornings off with hot cocoa.
