The last two days in Oklahoma provided a time of rest, recovery, and relationship building. The kids enjoyed slumber parties with their cousins at various houses, and they spent lots of time enjoying all their new presents. They went swimming at an indoor pool while growing ever closer to their beloved cousins. They could not bear to separate for even a moment to pack, so they extended their stay at their cousin's house while my husband and I packed up all their things back at Grandma and Grandpa's house. I'm amazed at how close they feel to these cousins who live 1200 miles away. My husband's family members are all very intentional about making the most of our time out there, so I give them much credit for facilitating such strong relationships despite the distance that separates us.
It was very cold and dry during our week in Oklahoma. Had there been moisture in the air, there would have been lots of snow. Yet, cold temperatures did not keep the kids from playing outside in Grandma and Grandpa's adventure land.
They also took fast rides with Grandpa on his Kawasaki.
