Our
daughter attends a nurturing, peaceful school where the boys are
surprisingly chivalrous, and the students are exceedingly respectful and
well behaved (at least while at school), likely because of the
structure and discipline that I would call "militaristic" if the faculty
were not so caring, loving, and kind. Well, I dropped her off at
school on April 22 with nothing but a sack lunch and excitement over the day's
Bentonville Battlefield field trip, and she came home with this replica
Civil War rifle with which she keeps doing rifle drills.
Maybe I
should call it "militaristic" after all, or perhaps she's just like her
father.
Here are some photos from the field trip.
You just gotta love a school headmaster who plays the role of a fallen enemy soldier in the kids' reenactment.
