Cody Chronicles #2

We are packing up our dear bunny today to go spend the weekend with some friends of ours.  They are contemplating getting a bunny, hopefully from the awesome breeder I keep recommending to everyone who sees our bunny and immediately wants one too, and need to test for allergies.

I chuckled as I heard my 9-year-old lecturing her bunny with advice very similar to what I might say before sending the kids' off to a friend's or family member's home.
"Now Cody, you be nice.  Behave!  And don't stink up their house!"

I am eager to move him outside to his hutch when we get into the new house so I will not to have to sweep up hay or dung pellets several times a day or clean out his cage every other day.  What a chore! But I will miss feeling his soft head resting on my feet or having him snuggled in my arms as often as he does now.

We've found that showers in the sink using the sprayer to target his nasty areas work much better than giving him baths.  The sprayer must feel like a massage to him because he seems to enjoy it, but he does not like to get his back or head wet at all, so he's definitely a shower kind of guy.

He's a very healthy eater and will eat any greens we give him from kale, spinach, and mustard leaves to collards, parsley, beet roots and beet tops although we have to limit some of those veggies due to their high oxalate content.  In one sitting, he will gobble down a pile of greens that's bigger than he is.  He eats a lot for a guy weighing less than three pounds.

After his showers, we'll hold him in a towel for a while to speed up the drying process.  Last time, I held the Bunster while doing my Bible study, and he just plopped his head up on the table as if it was entirely too cumbersome to hold up that head of his all by himself without some extra support. Funny bunny.
