Over the past six years, it seems a dark shadow has been cast upon America. Instead of seeking God's will, His righteous, and His lordship over our land, our nation's leaders slander America to other nations, sowing the greatest discord and division our country has seen since the Civil War. Through gross overreaches of power, our executive branch has mocked the U.S. Constitution, one of the most brilliant documents ever written after the Bible, bullied those who oppose or disagree with the executive agenda regardless of how illegal it may be, illegally spied on fellow citizens, allowed four courageous Americans serving faithfully overseas to die in a brutal terrorist attack which could have easily been prevented, freely given weaponry to terrorists who want to kill us, run guns across the border to drug cartels resulting in more loss of life, expanded welfare to record levels while increasing the unemployment rate to the highest since Carter's tenure, called acts of common sense, patriotism, and integrity "racism" because they have no argument to support their actions, denied religious freedoms and mocked those who fight for such freedoms, proliferated lies, freed terrorists putting unknown numbers of lives at risk out of personal self-interest, covered one scandal after another, hidden documents that should be free access to the public to cover secrets that could incriminate, made a mockery of all that is sacred in America, squandered natural and financial resources, crippled the economy, placed future generations in a bondage of debt that cannot be repaid, and sought to remove sacred American liberties.
America has been a beacon of freedom to the entire world since it's inception. If America continues to allow corrupt power grabbing and progressive socialistic ideals to continue stealing the liberties that have been defended (often to the death) by patriots for the past 238 years, there will be nowhere else to flee. America is the world's last hope for freedom and prosperity. Will we throw it away? Oh how I pray we will return to a rational thinking and love for liberty. May Americans learn to think for themselves instead of merely accepting whatever lies and new age ideas the media feeds them. Such babies our citizens have become...easily bought with a few free handouts without realizing they have made themselves slaves to an oppressive master for their mere survival.
Even so, America is still the best place to live in the entire world, and she still stands for freedom. I will celebrate every last shred of freedom we have until it is gone, but I have not lost hope. What made America GREAT can make her GREAT again! Jesus Christ is the hope for all the world, and He came to set us free. America was founded upon Biblical principles and faith in God. May the light of freedom never die in America, the home of the brave, and the land that I love.
So with those thoughts on my mind while suffering through day three of a brutal headache with painful muscle spasms running from my neck to the bottom of my shoulders (my chiropractor was closed for the holiday weekend), we skipped our original plans of spending the 4th downtown listening to concerts and enjoying all the amusements followed by the fireworks. Instead, we drove to a shopping center parking lot (for a quick medical getaway if necessary) where we could watch a fabulous fireworks show tailgate style with several thousand people in an upscale area that seems to do everything first rate.
We got there early to find a parking spot and had plenty of time for several rounds of Spoons and Hearts. I won the match, and now we know where our daughter gets her competitive spirit.
Then we enjoyed a fabulous show while thanking God for placing us in the USA.
