Oklahoma Came Here This Time!

It was such a pleasure to have my husband's family come visit us this year (Gift #639) instead of us flying out there as we have every year, up to three times a year since we were married. His parents were very brave to  drive five of their grandchildren all the way out here from Oklahoma. (The oldest is in college and the youngest is a newborn, so they could not come.)

Ready to leave Oklahoma!
7 out of 9 grandchildren all together at our place!
The kids played so well together, and the house sure did ring out with peals of laughter.  The boys built Lego creations and marble runs, while I won the twins over with Nutella.  The entire family played many rounds of checkers on the handcrafted checker set Grandma's youngest brother made for us as a wedding present.

We took the crew to our new pool the evening they arrived.  A DJ played lots of fun dance songs, so the kids boogied down the diving board and twirled to the music with Grandma.  The kids played water basketball and did aerial stunts in the water while my daughter and I participated in an impromptu diving competition with a new acquaintance on the higher diving board.  Little Witt was a brave boy to go off the diving board with the big kids.

After they spent a day and night at our house, Grandma and Grandpa took our two kids and one of our cars since two vehicles were required to seat all 9 of them and kept on trucking toward the Outer Banks.
OBX or Bust!
