If you think it's hot here...

We had record heat in our area for about two weeks.  The heat burned out our grass, caused a major highway to buckle during rush hour, and put so much load on cooling systems that AC units broke. Some nearby areas experienced power outages when the demand load from all the air conditioners exceeded the supplier's capacity. Facebook was filled with complaints about the heat and photos of temperature readings from car dashes.

After traveling to Oklahoma almost every summer for the past 11 years, my response to all these complaints about the heat is simply, "If you think it's hot here, go to Oklahoma where it is usually at least 10 degrees hotter in the summer."

So, while we were in OK with temperatures reaching well over 105 degrees each day, we kept cool by going to the pool.  We are so thankful to our generous family members for opening up their pool to us.  Once they let us come even when they could not be there.  We made some fun memories around that pool and in their awesome backyard.  We also spent a day at a large water park.  Here are some pics from our wet and wild adventures while keeping cool in OK.
