After feeling bored and a bit lonely with the kids away at Cousin Camp for 10 days, I was more than ready to have them back. They flew to Charleston with my FIL and BIL who then drove them to Myrtle Beach where the men would be playing in a father/son golf tournament. We made plans to meet at the check-in desk. When I walked into the golf store where the check-in took place, the first person I saw was a neighbor who lives just around the corner from us. His daughter and my daughter played on the same basketball team, and he served as coach. We had not seen him in over 18 months, yet we met in another state at a golf shop. He was there with his son to play in the same tournament.
I ended up having to wait quite a while which is never easy on the pocketbook when the only thing to do is shop. The greeting from the kids was well worth the wait, however. They jumped out of the rental vehicle and ran across the parking lot (thankfully not getting run over in the process) screaming, "Mommy! Mommy!" It was just the greeting my fragile heart needed.
After a delicious dinner, we walking together on the beach where we saw a boy and his mother finishing up a fantastic sand castle. We also spent the following morning on the beach before heading back home in time for the kids to reunite with their dad before crashing in their beds dead tired from three full weeks of travel and excitement.
