Patriotic Portraits and a Busted Bottom

Our last day in OK began with family portraits.  My MIL wanted patriotic photos of the family, so she purchased flag polo shirts for her grandsons, cute dresses for her younger granddaughters, and silly headbands for all the ladies.  I wore a red top and denim capris as specifically instructed, but most of the other ladies ended up wearing dresses, so I felt seriously under-dressed.  It was very hot and humid, so we waved fans while my hair frizzed.  The boys had fun on the tree swing while waiting between shoots.  The girls gabbed and enjoyed the animals.

We all enjoyed a delicious lunch together followed by wrestling for the boys and a cafe set-up in the basement by the girls.
We also got in some zip-line action before heading to the airport.  The kids made the zip-line look so easy.  I have fond memories of zip-lining as a kid, so I had to try it.  I commented before I launched that my hands felt sweaty/slippery in that 105+ degree heat and suggested that maybe I should coat them in dirt first.  Too eager to bother,  I pushed off with great gusto, and my hands slipped right off the bars.  I have done thousands of pull-ups over the past few years, but I have never slipped off the bar.  This was a first, and the drop was much further than it would have been with any pull-up bar.  I landed on my rear end and have had difficulty walking ever since.  Ice in my "bloomers" is my best remedy for now.
Children, do not try this at home!
