Upward Basketball

Basketball season has begun again. The registration deadline had already passed by the time I remembered to sign him up, but praise God they let him sign up anyway (Gift #940).  It took some phone calls and a trip to the church, but we got him signed on, and he is on a wonderful team.  I volunteered my husband to help coach (sorry, babe), and our daughter likes to keep the team stats (though she insists she does not like math!), so the games are a family affair for us all.  I take photos and have included a sampling below.   It's been amazing for me to see the change in our son this year.  He transformed from a shy and easy-going player last year to a profound rebounder, pass master, and shooting star.  (Gift #941)  He's a sharp thinking, quick footed, skillful passer who always seems to find the sweet spot for the rebound.  We're so proud of you!  And for the first time in two or three years, he's on an undefeated team.

He is the pass master, able to pass the ball from any blockade.

After catching yet another rebound, he takes the ball down court for a lay-up.
