“‘Stand up in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the LORD.
For centuries, it has been observed that both children and the elderly benefit by spending time together. Even the U.S. government has reported that spending time with the elderly helps improve a child's self esteem, ability to communicate, and problem solving skills. In return, interacting with mild mannered children has been shown to have emotional, social, and health benefits for the elderly. While separated by over 80 years in age, these two age groups actually have a great deal in common.
We feel blessed to know the activities director at an assisted living facility in our city. She regularly invites us to bring our children to participate in activities with the residents. Today, these precious residents sponsored an Easter egg hunt for our children. Our children put their best effort into making Easter cards for the residents while the residents diligently stuffed and hid eggs for our children.

Colossians 2: 6-7
6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
